@Blizzard please revert the health globe changes.

I feel like i'm getting an unfair advantage when i'm already winning the lane and it feels A WHOLE lot worse when you're losing the said lane.

It's a classic case of the rich getting richer while the poor getting poorer if you don't mind the analogy.

HotS has always been about comebacks for me and i loved that aspect of the game. After playing with this change for some time i've came to the conclusion that no matter which side you are on (winning or losing) it feels out of place and it's an unfair advantage.

Please please please rethink.

I think changes to buildings and minions were more pivotal in creating this new snowball meta.

Dont forget the Add EXP to Towers and fort from the Standalone tower. Personally think this is the bigges one. because by killing 2 towers you are actually 2.66 Towers... (if they are split 33 each tower + 34 for fort, unles is 25% for each tower & 50% for fort) but still point is if you kill 2 towers you are getting .5 tower extra now. which lead to early talent tier advatange which snowball harded the game specially 6lvl vs 7lvl

Yeah, that's probably the bigger reason but maybe just take it baby steps. Globes aren't helping the issue either, they just add fuel to the fire.

Disclaimer: I'm not trying to argue either way - I've only played a couple of times since the changes, so I can't make any informed opinion.

Having said that, I also think the problem might be slightly more complex than the globes change alone. And since that actually creates a lot of interesting scenarios, I'd prefer Blizzard would look for alternative solutions, if able.

Get out of here with your patience and reason. This is Reddit where it's torches and pitchforks only.

Right, I always forget.

OP, this is completely absurd, are you [INSERT_RANDOM_EXPLETIVE]?!!1! I'm a GM player and I know for a fact that your idea would make the game completely unplayable! I hope you [INSERT_RANDOM_NEGATIVE_EVENT] and get [INSERT_RANDOM_SERIOUS_DISEASE]!!1!

Hope that's better, I'll try to toe the line from now on. :)

No, but you know what globes are doing? They're making it so it's easier to carry as a solo laner.

happy cake day!!!

I think the snowball meta is because people aren't adjusting to the new mechanics more than anything.

mmm no, it's pretty much the opposite: the higher you play the more you see people who understand that buildings don't do anything and you win with first or second obj.

you can't defend anything, buildings do nothing. If you have an advantage you push as 5 and you win.

I'm not saying there doesn't need to be a numbers tweak, but there is a lot of adjusting that needs to happen. You need early game heroes to help get the lead and later game power spikes to help seal the game.

level 5

the more people will adjust the less games will last.

Hopefully it will already be fixed by Blizzard by then.

I played 9 games last night and almost all of them lasted >15 min, about half >lvl 20

edit: the one that was less than 15 minutes, our kelthuzad got fully stacked in 2.5 minutes

edit2: see this

I fear nothing, but that "soon"... it scares me monkaS

he said soon vs soon鈩 :P

really though, he admitted there was a problem that needs fixed which is the first step. IF they feel that problem is causing an exodus from the game, then it'll get fixed pretty quickly

A lot of the time I notice that players will stand guard over opposition health globes, but they can't maintain that position for long or they risk losing what the globe is worth.

Honestly, I like the change, but I would make the friendly state of globes last 1 second longer than the neutral state. So at the moment globes last 6 seconds; 3 friendly, then 3 neutral. I would just have it last 7 seconds; 4 friendly, 3 neutral.

I feel like this would create slightly better match-ups in lane, because right now it feels like that 3 second wait is just on the cusp of "Too easy", whereas guarding it for 4 seconds would push it away from being "too easy" and more into "this is now a risk" territory, and make for more interesting lanes.

Therefore, revert the change for EU and leave it in place for NA. /s

In life when you continuously do something the right way the chances of your success and quality of life increase. Works with sports, careers, and health. Its not an "unfair advantage". If someone can snowball from globes then deny them the globes. If you cant deny them the globes then you either picked the wrong hero or you need to switch lanes with a teammate who can deny them. If none of that works then you got out drafted. The game and your choices start before you ever step into the lane. The game is already Socialistic in nature with the team xp system and comeback mechanic. Don't take away one of the few things that rewards individual players who can out lane an opponent.

Fair enough. Valid points.

Yeah.. I'm torn on this subject. On the one side, being able to get more globes is a reward for winning the lane, making laning a lot more impactful (like the devs wanted it to be). On the other side, it's making already oppressive laners a lot more frustrating to play against.

I thought it was enough to deny the enemy from taking their globes, and I really like how Braxis Holdout has a neutral globe that usually gets taken by the one with the most lane control. But the ability to take enemy's globes is (imo) not the right step. I understand wanting to make laning more impactful, I just don't know if I want it to be.

HotS has always been about comebacks for me and i loved that aspect of the game.

The changes were made to actually reduce those possibilities.

level 1

That's the idea, you win a lane you get an advantage, this can be countered with effective rotations or in draft. The globe change is interesting and allows a lot of really enjoyable moments in my opinion, I like it.
