is it normal that I have to pay 20k for destroying MY OWN INSURED Oppressor?

Hi, I tried looking it up, but the internet is just full of comments whining about that you have to pay 20k if you destroy someone else's Oppressor, so I didn't find anything.

If I ride mine into the water, I have to call MMI and pay them 20k... is that normal?

Yes? If you're responsible for it being destroyed, you pay the insurance...

Yes

Yes it is. If you destroy your own vehicles, you pay. Since you were on the bike and it went into the water, it counts as you destroying it. If other people destroy your vehicles, they pay and it's free for you. I guess the idea behind it is to discourage players from blowing each other's personal vehicles up all the time, but with the money people have these day it's not much of a deterrant.

As for having to pay for your own, I guess it's just a case of learning not to crash it. Though I can safely say you'll have to pay out for that oppressor many, many more times - especially now that the breaks don't work in wing mode.

At least that's the idea - I've not been seeing the notice about paying for destroying my friend's personal vehicles like I used to.

Ok, thanks... It's a great vehicle to let friends play with when they're at my place. But in this case I'll have to babysit them a little more :(

If your friends destroy it, it's on them - and free for you. Let them go wild with it lol.

That second part, yeah, even after several months of ownership, I still manage to put it in the drink from time to time. I have to be pushing a couple hundred thousand in MM deductibles on mine lol

Just the other day my bro had to pay the $20k for accidentally destroying my IPC, neither of us realized how much it would be so we were both very surprised when he got charged. He didn't drive like an idiot anymore tho lol

you pay for any insured road vehicle you destroy, no matter if you own it or someone else does.
