Because static P/T-changing effects are applied after static ability-adding effects (the former on layer 7, the latter on layer 6), this card's ability-granting clauses will not take into account any effect that changes a creature's power, including the +1/+1 counters it distributes itself. This is why most of the Naya 5-power "lords" from Alara block, such as [[Mosstodon]], used cheap activated abilities rather than static ones.
Thanks for the heads up.
No worries! There's probably another way to do this, though - given Vampires' aggro nature, maybe an attack trigger? That'll check each creature's current power as it resolves.
So When Marra attacks
Creatures you control with one power gain...
Creatures you control with two power gain...
Creatures with three power gain...
Would that work?
It would, though you'd need to swap out haste, obviously. Lifelink seems like an obvious option for a vampire cleric.
Aye, but lifelink is generally found on 1/1 vampire tokens and that'd be one of the easiest synergies for this sort of card. Was thinking maybe, first strike, life link, trample?
Almost fits ixalan vampire's curve. Skilled and focussed, strong enough to feast, blood drunk enough they just keep going for another kill, too blooddrunk to focus on anything past the first target.
I think menace instead of trample would work better. Red gets more menace than it gets trample, and 3 power doesn't get nearly as much use out of trample as 4 or 5 does.

Ok. So the name is kind of dumb and I really don't know how to flavor this...but this was a dumb idea I had.
I like the idea of a weenies commander who has different effects for different power levels. Especially given she comes out haste'd and can pump herself/others.
Of course, she's probably overcosted but maybe fun for the 99 with say [[Edgar Markov]]?
